About the Attributes Collection 2026
Over the past few years, I have been intentionally studying the attributes of God and seeking a greater knowledge of who He has revealed Himself to be through His Word. Jeremiah 9 tells us that the knowledge of God is the greatest wisdom that a person can possess, and I have found that the more I learn about Who God is, the more I desire to know Him more intimately.
This study inspired a special series of paintings that I am calling the Attributes Collection. It includes ten original watercolor landscapes, each created while meditating on a different attribute of God. The entire process has felt spiritually significant, and this collection has become very dear to my heart.
I am in a very full season of life. Much of my time over these past several years has been devoted to homeschooling, teaching classes to homeschool students at our academy, gardening, working on projects around our property, and getting our lavender farm established. Because of that, the little pockets of time I have been able to spend painting have become especially precious to me. The ability to create artwork at all feels like such a gift from God after experiencing my vision loss and the limitations that followed, and being unsure if I would ever be able to draw or paint again.
The paintings in this collection are different from the meticulously detailed artwork I have created in the past, and that is intentional. Just as we cannot fully comprehend the divine essence of God or exhaust the depths of His attributes, the landscapes in this collection are familiar but not always completely clear. At times, it felt less like I was painting a specific place and more like I was capturing an idea—a glimpse of something familiar through softened, hazy edges and layers of color.
There are many reasons to study the attributes of God, but one of the most important is this: without a right understanding of who God is, we cannot fully understand the Gospel. The character of God gives meaning to His holiness, His mercy, His justice, His faithfulness, His sovereignty, His love, and ultimately to the salvation He offers us through Christ.
This collection has blessed me again and again through the process of creating it. My prayer is that God would use it to bless you as well and, more than anything, inspire a deeper longing to know Him.
