HELLO

Hi, I'm Heather. I am a visual artist, educator, wife, and a mama to two precious children. We are blessed to live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest on a small farm. I find solace when spending time in the great outdoors, and my artistry is inspired by the intricate detail found amidst the forests and mountains. I cannot spend time immersed in nature without contemplating my Creator - it's where I feel the strongest connection to God. Even as a young child I felt inexplicably drawn to the forests and meadows and the tiniest details of the natural world, recognizing the peace and wholeness I felt there. It is my desire for others to view my work and be inspired to seek the first Creator.

Primarily a self-taught artist, I began to explore my artistic abilities at a young age and developed a passion for drawing and creating with my hands. I obtained a degree in Art Therapy Counseling, and I currently work as an artist and educator. I feel privileged to teach art classes and facilitate group sessions with young students in my community.

"IT IS MY DESIRE FOR OTHERS TO VIEW MY WORK AND BE INSPIRED TO SEEK THE FIRST CREATOR."

In the spring of 2021 I experienced the loss of vision in my right eye, caused by the growth of an abnormal mass which resulted in permanent damage to my retina and the loss of my central vision in that eye. My treatment is ongoing, requiring routine injections of medication into my eye. This vision loss and treatment led me to set aside my art supplies for a season as I adjusted physically, mentally, and emotionally.

My husband, Zachary has always prioritized my artistry and made sure that I have the time, space, and energy to be able to create. It was his care and encouragement that gave me the confidence to pick up my pencils and brushes and start again.

As the months pass, my depth perception continues to improve and I’ve felt more inspired than ever to get back to creating when I can in between treatments. I've found that I do my best work with the sunshine pouring in open windows, quiet music playing, and with some quiet moments to be still and just listen.

I selectively take custom art commissions, please contact me for more information.
